If you think you've already seen a comic and/or passage like this, you have. God renames Jacob to Israel twice. And throughout the rest of Jacob's live, the book keeps switching back and forth and back and forth. It's fucked up. But you'll see why soon enough.
Meanwhile, that doesn't account for God messing up everyone's names in general, not just Genesis. But can we really blame him for this? I mean, think about if you owned an ant farm. And you loved all your ants dearly. And you wanted to make one of them a prophet, but you just couldn't remember which one you made a prophet, or what his name was, or if he's even still alive. Maybe he escaped. You'd be hopelessly lost! So, the fact that Yahweh continues to come back to Jacob and other kin of Abraham, despite his inability to remember their names, is proof enough of his godliness for me.
Is it just me or do Jacob's servants-with-benefits look especially hawt today?
Clearly this is part of the overall trend of Lucas drawing chicks hawter and hawter. By the time we get to the New Testament, he'll probably draw a chick so hawt that just looking at her will give you an instant orgasm! Tragically this will result in the end of humanity since no one will ever want to have sex again.
Then again, I am kind of surprised anyone ever wants to reproduce anyway-
Folks, as today's comic reminds us, birth is extremely gross. All kinds of gross stuff comes out of women- that "water," for example, is really amniotic fluid, which is composed primarily of BABY PISS. So baby piss comes out, and blood comes out, and a placenta comes out, and (grosser still!) A BABY COMES OUT!!
But do you know what's even worse?
Do you know what else comes out of women when they're giving birth??
